I live in Cutervo but i am lucky enough to have a site mate, which means another volunteer lives in the same town as me. Christopher Huey lives in Cutervo as well and is Youth Development volunteer from Peru 15. Within his first year he has started a youth center here in Cutervo. We finally got the keys this month and have started filling the space with books, computers, games and more. The space will be open to the youth in the community and we will be giving computer classes, and teaching english. We will also be holding charlas weekly and will use the space to promote the goals of the Peace Corps YD program but also to give the kids a space to call their own. Last week when i was in Cajamarca City Chris held a "cine" or movie night in, and 43 kids attended. The youth in this community are super excited about the space, and i thought i would share some pictures.
